Theme: those big, beautiful mid-50s hats!

I’ve loved hats ever since my first Easter bonnet, which partly explains my preoccupation with millinery, both human size and doll sized.

Some of my favorite hat fashions are from the 1950s, especially those big beautiful ones from the mid 1950s with all the tulle, flowers, feathers, and fur.

This weekend I enjoyed making up some big-little hats from fascinator bases, ribbons, and flowers.

Phoenix’s hat is a black base adorned with ballet pink point d’espirit tulle, a big ribbon bow and flowers. She’s wearing a 1950s dress by Diane on Whidbey Island and a Willardy purse.

Jean wears a taupe base with ribbon edge and bow. Her vintage suit is Urban Vita’s Portfolio Review and her purse by Willardy.

Beautiful styling! Your dolls look fabulous.
