Flynn, along with Mitchum, is an actor whose movies always entrance me.
Flynn could do comedy, too, but rarely got the chance.

Most of the things that got him into trouble, aside from women, was his trying to self-medicate his recurrent malaria. Being a young, athletic man who sometimes passed out from recurrent malaria in his time was not to be believed. That his heart was collapsing from the strain did not help any.

He died at 51, I believe. The cause is usually attributed to alcoholism.

because it is hard to get work when you are supposed to be this Big Action Star, but you are regularly falling down and shaking or passing out. Saying that you had a drug problem sounded better at the time. I think that is why he wrote "My Wicked, Wicked Ways." He wanted to set the record straight on his own terms.
