I lost my brother this past Thanksgiving, so I have been throwing myself into sewing. I had this neat houndstooth cotton print in my stash and wanted to try out patterns I have avoided in the past. Enter Vince Nowell's Oil Baron's Ball suit pattern. The suit jacket has a lower notched collar which distinguishes it as a suit coat rather than a pajama top. The pants needed adjustments at the waist, but it has slash pockets and rear pocket flaps. The shirt and vest are from Tamara Casey's Tuxedo pattern.
I think it's a successful effort!
I had been chatting with the wonderful Sue Connor about the lack of hat patterns for Trent and she sent me this great derby hat pattern and I was off to the races!
