I have seen>" During the Victorian years, “opera tokens” were used as tickets by the wealthy clientele. They were often made of ivory and were used to show proof of enter for the more expensive boxes. Edith Head had her famous necklace made of a variety of opera tokens. It was one of her favorite pieces of jewelry and you can see it in many photos of her through the years. When Edith died she willed the necklace to Elizabeth Taylor who had admired it for many years.
