Once you have determined which way the magnet(s) should go, I would try glueing, as I think the problem is in the casting of that tunnel part in the head cap. It's too big sometimes, so the only way to make the cap functional is to glue in the magnet.

- I've bought replacement magnets off ebay & have replaced on many wigs by glueing them in place
