Alexander Doll Company changed ownership, and we, the collectible doll market, are delighted that the new ownership is willing to make small runs of Cissy for the MADC Conventions and as website exclusives. When they discontinued making Cissy, I debated whether to stay a member, because the Alexander dolls I collect, Alex and Wu Alex, Lissy and Cissy, were all discontinued products. But I stuck with them, and we were able to convince Management that there is indeed a market for Cissy. Yay! The Cissy from 2021, dubbed the Elise Mackenna, based on the character from the film Somewhere in Time, was a huge success. The company made her for the 2020 Convention, which had to be cancelled and rescheduled for 2021. With that in mind, we were able to campaign for another Convention Cissy for 2023. The Company then took that doll and reworked her for a website exclusive, which also sold out. So we have a chance at more Cissii for the future. |
