Sandra’s volunteers did an amazing job of turning the room over for the lunch event. There were more beautiful Madame Gres designs for sale:
I always enjoy seeing the shoes:
I love cocktail dresses, and Madame Gres designed some beautiful examples!
Here you can see that the draped peplum is detachable. So two dresses in one!
There was also a color variation of this morning’s centerpiece suit inspired by Mainbocher. The fabric gives it a different vibe! And I love all the detailing on the lapels and on the pockets. By the way, underneath the suit is a jersey short-sleeved top.
The luncheon centerpiece doll was extremely popular! This is a suit base on a Gres design. There were three per table, and all three were claimed at my table. My sister-in-law—who is attending her first SSP event! Yay!!—was one of the lucky winners!
My SiL grew up in ATL, so she especially loved the mini-shopping bag from Rich’s, Which was the most fashionable department store in Atlanta for years.
T(e theme for lunch was “Travilla: Designer to the Stars,” and we learned about the man who designed iconic fashions for Marilyn Monroe.
After some lucky attendees received door prizes, it was time for the unboxing:
This is a black version of the “Coque Tail” dress! I’m really happy that was part of the convention package! Look at the details! A different style hat and turquoise gloves changes the look of the dress!
There’s another movie. But I need a break for the final dinner at 7:30.
