I’ve had good success reshaping both wigs and rooted hair using a quarter inch curling iron. You do have to have an idea of what type of fiber you’re dealing with to know how much heat it can tolerate. If you can remove a few test fibers and expose them to heat you might get an idea. Non-heat resistant fibers can be cold rolled and reshaped with gel product. The best product is one with very few additives. Free and Clear gel is a good one (can order through Walgreens.) Heat resistant can be curled or reshaped with a curling iron on low heat. I have a 1/4” iron that has worked well for me. Using a silicone based styling liquid helps keep the hair shiny and protected from the heat. This is the iron I have. Hot and Hotter Gold Ceramic Curling Iron 1/4'' Barrel Size … https://a.co/d/bNIos0S I’ve also used this iron on AD rooted hair. I use Cindy Lorimer’s method: https://vimeo.com/18017991 I’ve also gotten great tips googling info on styling “big people” wigs.
