Aunt Effie gave us the same type of gowns as yours to play dress up in. Like yours, they were very big and long and made of tulle. They were gorgeous! I remember silver, kelly green, and yellow. There may have been a black one. Aunt Effie would use safety pins to pin them up for us, but it never seemed that we had enough pins. Always looking for pins! Like you, we were princesses, and we were also dancers. I recall us one time climbing up the hill behind my house wearing them. We climbed a tree waiting for Prince Charming to rescue us, but all that came were cows and a bull that scared us so much we stayed in the tree for a very long time. I remember eating oranges in the tree. The dresses became tattered, but the memories of wearing those beautiful dresses from dear Aunt Effie never will! When I was older, Aunt Effie loved to tell the story of how I put oranges in the bodice so I would have "boobies'! Hey, that must be why we had oranges to eat up in the tree that day!
