I find it takes my heating pad at least an hour to get the head soft enough, you may want to check after a half hour until you get a handle on how long your pad takes. When you take the head off, first press it down and then work it off That was a great hint given to me here, it opens the hole up a bit more. I wrap the doll’s head to protect it and her hair, for me an old hankie works well.
