So earlier I'm sure you saw the lovely Gene sized kimonos that Yuko posted for sale. I was very impressed and contacted her to see if she'd like to make kimono for my tiny Phicen dolls. They are barely 6 inches high, 1:12 scale and came naked as a jay-bird. They needed clothes the poor dears. So Yuko graciously took up the challenge. Here is the results;
These are the more formal kimono she made. They have longer sleeves and more elaborate obi. You can see the small scale as the one doll is holding a paper cocktail umbrella! Yuko made the tiny green paper fan and the beautiful scroll as a gift. It was an unexpected surprise and so kind. I am making a Japanese doll house for these two and the scroll will go into the niche by the door. [img][/img]
These are the more casual kimono, shorter style sleeves and simpler obi. I really like the darker colors. [img][/img]
And here is a photo of the obi styles. Each one is different. [img][/img]
I can not tell you how happy I am with how these turned out. Yuko really stepped up to the difficulty of working in that small a scale. Not easy but I think she did a marvelous job. So now Miss Happiness and Miss Flower have kimono to wear. Thank heavens as it is freezing cold here in MN. Now they patiently wait as I slowly build their doll house. I'm being very careful and slow but will post photos when I finish.
