I really appreciate your help with this. I never realized that the number on Gene clothing tags should match the doll number! I checked the swimsuit and it has the number 999 which is the same number as the COA so she is Miss 999 and underwent a body switch between 2002 and the time I bought her on eBay on September 10, 2004. Obviously, the switched body did not have whatever problem caused the need for the original body to be replaced. I just checked my database where I keep a record for each doll or outfit I have purchased over the years. I keep receipts and where applicable eBay listing printouts if something was bought on eBay. The record for Miss Simply said she was being sold NRFB and the eBay seller specifically said "never removed from box". A case of "immaculate body swap"??? In any event, the new body appears to have been much better than the original body as it has no yellowing, chipping or stains. I do wonder why the seller didn't mention the body swap -I just checked and he's no longer selling on eBay. I did swap yellowed Gene bodies for the replacement ones from Integrity at some point and I will mention it when I sell those dolls as I'd never try to pass off an altered doll as NRFB even if the change was for the better. I am downsizing my huge doll collection as I already have two full doll rooms and unless I'm willing to switch the third bedroom I use as my office and move it to the kitchen to make room for a third doll room, some of the girls have to find new homes. Maybe I should offer the Genes doll and clothing on the Commissary before putting them on eBay, although I suspect everyone on the board already has what I have and lots more than I have! Thanks again! Claire.
