The Madame Alexander Doll Club mini Convention called Premiere will be in Ft. Lee, NJ, just across the George washington Bridge from Manhattan, this Friday and Saturday. Premiere takes its name from the traditional premiere of the line at Toy Fair. The event is sold out, I believe.
There is new ownership of Alexander Doll Company and they had a booth at Toy Fair, which is promising. They even had a few of the collectible dolls category in their booth this year. Unlike the previous owners, they seem to have an interest in the Madame Alexander Doll Club and will have a presentation at Premiere either Friday and Saturday. We hope this incarnation of the Company will be friendlier to the collectibles division.
The Thursday night Broadway show excursion is The Cher Show, so that should be entertaining, to say the least!
I'm looking forward to a weekend of beautiful dolls and friendly faces. I always chair the Sales Room and this year we're having a Free Table at the last day of Sales Room. St. Hankie (Cheryl St. Germain on this Board), will be there with her exquisite dresses for Wendy, and will probably sell out in the wink of an eye. I'll have a collection for Cissy.
