I first did this design as an auction contribution at a Gene convention. AD purchased the gown and asked me to work it up to become a part of the Gene line. The color contrast I originally used with the black was a bit more rust-like. I remember having a box of 48 Crayola crayons, and one of my favorite colors was called bittersweet, so I thought of that color being used in the gown. In production, the color became more orange, and I love it. It's nice to think of this fashion coming out each year as part of collector's Halloween displays.
