I figured it was just a scam, but they called back two more times. I finally answered and it was Alexandra of Kingdom Doll. She said my name was next on the list for Valeria because Ed Haley had passed, however with her British accent, I thought she was saying Ed Healy.

We talked a bit and then I realized who she meant. So, how could I refuse that doll even though my budget was not prepared for a hit like that? However, knowing that the only reason I got it was because of Ed, I said “Yes”! He helped me get other dolls along the way. I am so sad for our loss, he was such a nice man! We met for a Broadway show and dinner a few years back. He gave me Christmas presents, etc. and working with him at Sandra’s events was always such a hoot! Oh my. I couldn’t believe my ears when Alexandra told me he had passed unexpectedly.

My life has been a little crazy lately and I really haven’t had time for dolls so I have not been checking in at all at “the Commissary”. I am so sorry to lose Ed as a special doll friend, and, sorry to just now be learning of Ed’s passing.
