My mom loved tinsel! She placed careful strands dripping down the branches and I loved the sparkle. Me and my brother weren’t much help, we tended to “fling” rather then “place”. At the end of the season mom carefully removed each strand, wound it around a piece of cardboard and reused it the next Christmas. I have my mom’s old lead tinsel! (A million times better then today’s cheap Mylar) I never use it because we had cats, now I’m just too lazy. But today’s tree is so beautiful and reminds me of mom.

Dorothy: Who’s that?
Scarecrow: A strange man with an axe and a can of lube. I’ll ask if he wants to join us?

- I love tinsel, though we called it 'icicle'. I've tried trees without it. But I miss it.[EMPTY] - Flamingomoon December 14, 2025, 2:47 pm
