When the Gene event was in New Orleans we went to the Marde Gras museum. They had several queen gowns and other royal fashion on display. The trains were huge and long like this photo. But small boys, pages, were there to hold and move the train. If I remember correctly, please pipe in if I’m wrong, each Krewe elected a queen and the Krewe had the train, crown and scepter. The queen just provided her own gown. So things were reused.
