Over the past years I have had many fruitless conversations with men in suits carrying clipboards who couldn’t thread a needle, let alone figure out how to use it to sew on a button, and who responded to my concerns as if I were a poor clueless woman who just doesn’t understand corporate business practices. (In case you haven’t noticed yet, I’ve been p***sed at them for a long time.) Combine their decisions with the need to eliminate all competition and become our only choice, it was only a matter of time before Karma would bite.

Yes, I’m sorry for all of us who will now be severely inconvenienced and especially for all those who are losing their jobs; so in that sense I will miss Joann’s. I only hope that so many independent shops who had to close their doors will find a way to rear their beautiful heads and come back to life. (There is one in my area that may really benefit in this way - fingers crossed!)
