I have dolls/fashions I got from Wayne Nilson's, Marilyn Hook's and a few other estates that I treasure not only because I wanted them but that they once belonged to them. It makes them even more special.
I have been watching Vince's estate on eBay. I hope I get a fashion but the ones I like seem to go way over my budget. I only realized it was his collection when I recognized my photo from a fashion I sold him in the listing. He was really good at keeping his items organized and documented it seems.
Which brings to my next topic... many of you may know I have been helping Jeff sell Wayne's collection on eBay. It was a year ago September we made the trip to FL to bring everything back. Luckily Jeff and I are doll collectors in the same area as Wayne so the items are not entirely lost on us. It wasn't very well organized but we did well. It has made me decide that once we are finished with this I am going to really make an effort to start selling down my own collection. I wont sell my Gene's or Syb's or IT & Adonis boys. Well, I may sell a couple IT Gene's just to thin the herd... LOL
Finally responding to Tom's comments, I totally get the negative reaction I have to dolls that have unpleasant memories. I was collecting another line of dolls a few years back, even going to a couple events. I finally had to move away from them and sell off what I had (though I still have a couple I do adore). The community was so toxic and the last event I went to I saw such horrible behavior from the collectors. I knew I didn't need to be a part of it. But I am happy because it got me back into collecting SuperDoll which I love and the collectors are wonderful.
If you got this far sorry this was so long! LOL
