Anyone who knows me knows how fond I am of Vince Nowell's Absolute Drama pattern. Princess seams are so flattering to the body! I am never content unless I am changing up a pattern. Here is Violet and Violet showing off two of my most recent hacks to Absolute Drama
In the past I have always made this pattern in either linen or silk, but this time I wanted to try it out in a cotton print. The light weight fabric allowed for an off-center closure, which could have been double-breasted; and I decided to forego the sleeves. The shortened skirt is ideal for warmer weather. I think Violet is ready for the Summer!
The second look is in peacock silk, a great color for Violet. I made the full length skirt for the first time, and flipped back the front edges into lapels for a new look. I think the rhinestone buttons really finish it off.
