There's an exhibit, Fashioning San Francisco, at the de Young featuring the fashions worn by the women who patronized both established and up-and-coming designers during their time, whether it was the 1900s or the 2010s. Both Junon and Venus were there, having been purchased by the owner of I. Magnin - THE store where *all* of SF high society bought their designer clothes. They were bought when debuted and then Mr Magnin immediately donated both gowns to the de Young - they were never worn except to be photographed! I guess he figured they were too beautiful to go traipsing 'round the streets or ballrooms! These were two of my favorites due to their beauty and association with Gene having one of her own.
