It’s a dinky bar in her husbands home town. They’ve always had this thing were you could buy a beer for a friend, they’d mark it on the chalkboard and when the person next came in they got a beer.
So they started this Buy a beer for Betty and the money raised would go to a local animal shelter. $5 and they added a hash mark. Over 575 people have so far paid $5 into the pot, close to $3000. That’s pretty cool and I love that they just extended a local tradition to include her.
