no....only a couple sold. people wanted fully finished pieces, and really, my only angle is where I have some novelty like transparency or snakeskin....something they can't easily source from any number of places. I'm a budget shopper myself, so I'd only pay someone like me if I really loved the product.
So why am i talking sandals at all? because I was asked for them with a bulk buy of my last serpentine design. I have to cut the model apart anyway when I'm working so I made a base and voila.
No one has asked me, but my pricing is based on what Shapeways would charge if I gifted my 3d file to the buyer. Then I add labor based on the amount of time to finish it. The DIY I sold at exactly shapeways pricing. I will never be able to compete on price, but that's what they are based on.
But I 100% appreciate the candor. I get very forest for the trees at times and candor doesn't phase me.
I was actually looking for any design changes people might want....
One final note: I loathe having to tie ribbon shoes....loathe it. loathe the stupid hanging pieces...usually end up using medical tape instead of tying it. So for some of what I've done for KD patrons, I create a permanent bow and a hook closure to it.
