"There were some who pleased God and were loved by him,
and while living among sinners were taken up.
They were caught up so that evil might not change their understanding
or guile deceive their souls.
For the fascination of wickedness obscures what is good,
and roving desire perverts the innocent mind.
Being perfected in a short time, they fulfilled long years;
for their souls were pleasing to the Lord,
therefore he took them quickly from the midst of wickedness.
Yet the peoples saw and did not understand,
or take such a thing to heart,
that God’s grace and mercy are with his elect,
and that he watches over his holy ones."
Wisdom of Solomon 4:10-15 NRSV
Micah 7:8
"Do not rejoice over me,
O my enemy;
when I fall, I shall rise;
when I sit in darkness,
the Lord will be a light to me."
Proverbs 3:5
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not rely on your own insight."
Proverbs 14:12
"There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way to death."
Proverbs 16:25
"Sometimes there is a way that seems to be right,
but in the end it is the way to death."
Quite often people will tell you of how "old fashioned" or "out of touch" GOD's way is. They will tell you that "no one can live The Way of GOD.
The verses chosen today reflect the truth and safety The Word of GOD provides to all who believe. Sadly, all of those who seek to dismiss and teach others evil is good can also see their future recorded in the same Word of GOD.
We need to be about the work of building and teaching believers so we reach those GOD will bring to us.
Are you on the right path?
Are you helping others to find the right path?
Let us be about the work GOD has called us.
Like the old Hymn says: "Trust and obey, for there's no other way."

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 ESV All rights reserved. Praise, I said praise The Lord!
