Our latest example is:
"Jesus was wrong to have turned the water into wine at the wedding"
Wait...
"Jesus is "wrong"?
By what standard, or by whose standard?
However the context of this false teaching becomes obvious when we consider the rest of the "teaching"! The Youth Leader continued by telling the group of young people that to drink wine is a sin and therefore for Jesus to turn water into wine was wrong.
Now, can anyone show me where Scripture condemns the consumption of wine? Any consumption? All consumption?
Nowhere, that's where!
Scripture condemns the addiction to, or over-consumption of, wine. Scripture does not forbid the consumption of wine.
So, why do we have folks "teaching" that it does?
Because, they say, temptation may draw someone into sin by drunken habits.
But wait, didn't Eve also embellish God's Commands?
Yes, she did!
Compare what God said in Genesis 2:15-17 to what happens in Genesis 3:1-4 and tell me how Eve's embellishment worked out for us.
Keep The Word of God in context and resist the urge to "strengthen" it!
The Word of God is complete, accept it as such and receive His blessing!
Twist and distort and receive His curses.
Your choice.
Choose.
