Week 1:
7:30 E-Lemon-ators VS Nigerian Dwarfs
Two of the newer teams in the mix of Coed, Hard to say exactly what to expect when you enter into the unknown. What do we know? Both squads will be ready to bring it on the manicured fields of Jack D Hughes. I have to take a pick so I'll got with E-Lemon-Ators winning 19-9 off their name creativity. That, and having seen captain Kyle Parrish play he's hard to stop. The kid makes plays.
8:30 QC Elite VS QC JAGS
Both of these squads have been established in the QCFFL for some time now. Though the Jags have never been known for coed, they bring some talented receivers, a nasty defense, and savy QB. However.. QC Elite will be the toughest test they could find to start. Youthful Veterans is the term to describe them, their roster holsters multi time national champions(MLK Weekend in Florida every year), and an array of developing athletes. Fecil Blango's in charge and always brings the tools needed to handle the job at hand. Will be interesting to see how deep they come. It might get ugly quick as Natalie can throw for 11 all night long(9+2). Expect this one to be in the ballpark of 28-16. QC Elite. Athlete to watch: Lay Johnston - speed, attitude, and he's been known to take the top off if you know what that means.
8:30 Field 2 Buzz Coed Hornetts VS Ambush
Buzz City turning the stinger to Coed, captain and Center Ryan Houston had a great showing in the Panthers 4v4 tournament at Bank of America Stadium a few weeks ago, making it to Sunday. Can't wait to see what he's built here as his teams are growing more and more competitive by the season. Watch for him to contend for top captain honors at seasons end. Ambush is coming off a disappointing trip to nationals where they went 0-2, but given their history they'll come loaded and ready to play. I see this one being close early as both teams settle in, and the rush game setting the tone. Ambush 39-20 is my estimation. Don't blink kids but points can happen quickly in these games..
9:30 Stacked VS Ambush
Well this is one of those games that defends the slogan "Charlotte's Got A Lot" Robin Jackson has been captaining successful teams for some time now, and has a national title herself with "BoysOnTheSide(BOTS)" her female squad transitions to a healthy coed crew that has been top 5 nationally for the past 3 years. Ambush and Stacked have some history between them and this could be an interesting match up. I'll say Stacked makes this a long day for Ambush as they have girl QBs that move effectively. 21-20 at the end.
Come out and check it out!! Videos, Photos, and all the extras are on the horizon as the QCFFL continues growth and expansion, be on the lookout for news and updates!
