For me, after Man of Action, Hocus Pocus is the most memorable record from the RNI era. I am far from musical, but I was very taken by Focus when I heard the record around mid-1971. I thought that the whole band was verging on musical brilliance. It did not occur to me that the performance was amusing, rather I thought the effort was coherent.

Now, fifty years later, there are hundreds of so-called "reactions" on YouTube. Most of these are ridiculous:
"I'll give it four out of ten";
"They must have been on drugs";
"Yodelling is not part of rock";
"It's funny";
"Why are there no lyrics?"
"It's not pitch perfect"
