One of the largest Dutch radio days took place in November 2007 with 450 visitors. We listened to Tom Mulder (Klaas Vaak) and witnessed the reunion of Swinging Radio England. And we were fascinated as Johnnie Walker, Robbie Dale, Roger Day and other well-known presenters told their stories about Radio Caroline after Monday, 14 August 1967. In 2007, we also introduced the Radio Day Awards as a biennial event to recognise the efforts of some special people who fought for free radio without government control. It was ‘The Admiral’ Robbie Dale who came up with this idea and, together with Hans Knot, hosted the very first Radio Day Award ceremony.
