I understand the Les Reed tune was chosen by the German organisation of broadcasters as their theme tune and the head of that was an acquantance of Meister and Bollier who founded RNI. They adopted it as their brilliant theme tune. I still got the original single and still remember Disc jockeys talking over it mentioning the frequencies (AM,FM, SW) and the postal adress in Zurich Switzerland. RNI had a sense of mystery when they first appeared off the Dutch coast in 1970 broadcasting in English and briefly in German....
