A Hagger never changes its spots. As in the past I note that nobody named by him is an honest man. Each one is liar and truth concealer or in my case a fraudster and criminal. Nobody has any good motives.
As the old saying goes ' even a stopped clock is right twice a day ' so every now and again I guess he gets something correct. But the over riding factor and even if Pye Industries were behind the pirate project, nobody feckin cares. Can he not research something relevant today or at least in this century.

As for the Titanic ( and so far not even Merv has suggested that it did not sink ), the big conspiracy theory was that it was the Olympic that sank. THe theorists say that Olympic had been badly damaged by collision at a huge repair cost so that the White Star Line swopped the identities sent the Olympic out to sink while switching the name and that the actual Titanic had a career as OLympic. Hugely unlikely of course.
Engineeringly and design wise, Titanic had multiple bulkeads but as it was not thought that so many compartments could be breached at once they were not of full height. One overflowed in to the next and so on.

In the event that I had been the first officer I would have gone full astern on all three engines and struck the berg head on. The bow would have crumpled hugely but if the collision bulkhead had held, the vessel would still have floated.
The ship still had propulsion and there was shipping hove to in the area. Might it have been possible to reach the nearest ship or transfer passengers on to the Iceberg ?
One old picture I have seen is where part of the lower hull had the paint burned off . The suggestion there is that by spontaneous combustion a coal bunker had ignited. It is said that the stokers were feeding the many boilers with already burning coal and that the adjacent bulkhead was glowing red hot. In this theory the bulkhead fractured when sea water reached the hot metal.

As with Merv's ramblings it makes no difference now.
