It has not started yet on 1575 Khz. I should be able to hear something as I am in North Essex. As STX said above, it should get out around 10 miles inland. There is already an antenna of sorts on the ship - a single wire inverted 'L' so they could just use that. It would work better if they could gain a bit more height to give a better ground wave though.
