Hi There, Does anyone know the TRUTH, regarding What will happen, to Dual-Rate Electric meters, when 198 is switched off ????
As the Electricity suppliers are using, Not Direct Lies, but "Half-Truths" to frighten OAPs into having a Smart meter fitted
One rumour said, they are trying to scrap the Economy 7 cheap night rate totally, Not sure about that, Don't think so

Someone tested his own Dual Rate meter, by Jamming its receiver Locally, so it could Not hear the Droitwich signal
and it reverted to its Clock Time mode, so he will still get Cheaper Night rate, even when Droitwich signal ceases eventually

The amazing BS letters put out by the Electric firms, are nearly as good as TV Licencing ones!
They sort of "Imply" things, some of which are True, some are just to worry people, Like...

Stating that their "Heating and Water MAY not switch on correctly",
You can Imagine grandad trembling with fear "ooh me heating not going to work"
This only applies, If you have got Night storage Radiators
(where you had huge box with Elements Heating up Bricks, during the night, and releasing the heat during the Day)

There are lots of different ways, that the Dual rate meters were done, Early dual rate Mechanical Meters, Had a Separate box
with the 198kc receiver in it. Some Later Meters with Digital Displays, had Droitwich Receiver all built in one small unit

So...Does anyone know the TRUTH about what will really happen??.....
as at the moment, we are being treated like Mushrooms, Keep em in the dark, and feed em BS
