So, BBC Radio ditches their older listeners. A commercial competitor comes along, and successfully taps into this forgotten demographic. BBC then panics and decides to create another station with licence payers money, and tries to stifle the commercial competitor. It stinks. As others have commented here, there are other excellent stations out there too (e.g. Caroline Flashback and 242 Radio are just two that come to mind). If it gets the go-ahead, I certainly won't be listening (but we'll all be paying for it). And what would it be called....Radio 8?
