Re: Radio on the Isle of Man
While visiting Cheshire and Liverpool last spring I tried to see if I could receive anything radio wise from the IOM. I stopped right on the sea front at Wallasey new Brighton beach south of the Mersey which is completely open and facing out into the open Irish sea. I was mainly trying to get something on FM but there was not even the slightest hint of anything having checked for the frequencies in use on the island. None of them are very powerful though so it was a tall order even across open sea - around 75 miles. Maybe a bit further north around Blackpool is worth a try If I'm up that way another time. The Medium wave Manx radio service (Gold) on 1368 KHZ was of course perfectly receivable but that's all.
