Fondly remember the monthly meetings at the Dorchester in Park Lane (The only hotel he ever stayed in when visiting London) he even paid for 1/2 nights accommodation there for myself and then after the monthly afternoon meeting we would be taken to a wonderful French restaurant in Knightsbridge.
Philip was certainly a James Bond type always with a beautiful woman i remember the variation from Russian to Brazilian even Arabic he would treat them all like a gentlemen.
Remember he only ever put the money up on the back of the Marlboro contract which was arranged through Leo Burnett one of the directors worked for Radlon in the sixties (Radio London sales) who did the deal with the New York office from memory the station had to be on air for 12/18 months for the contract to be honoured hence the court case after the station closed.
Finally the Americans in New York all moved on around the late summer of 1984 leaving only John Catlett and myself.
For years after Philip would refuse to take any monies off myself when visiting Dublin on business trips and staying in Sachs, invited him a few years before he passed away to the VIP hospitality at Malahide for the Ireland v England Cricket match it rained after 10 overs and the match was abandoned with over 500 Irish business men enjoying a free bar for the rest of the day including the president of the Republic he knew they all.
