..wow, you knew Andy then? Famous for Alice Soundtech, with the well known "A" series desks, and the even better Air 2000 ones
He was connected with Peter Chicago, both very clever engineers (I have met Peter several times over the years)
The "7" shape Laser antenna was clever, It was basically a Marconi "T" but...
Instead of the vertical section, connecting to the Middle, of the Capacity hat horizontal part, It connected to One End of it,
enabling it to get nearer to resonance, with less lossy Loading coil needed at the feedpoint
As most of the output from a full quarter wave, comes from the lower half (over 70%)
Its the high current section of any aerial, that produces most of the output, so the feedpoint is worst place to have a large loading coil
But despite Lasers masts being only just over 100 feet, it put out an amazing signal
Alice nowadays, has been restarted by Paul Andersson in Hertford, If you need Spares or Circuit Diagrams for the "A" series desks
have a look at https://www.alice.co.uk/ (under support in the top menu for free circuits)
