Re: Do solar microinverters cause interference to MF/HF?
Generally yes. but if you are not hearing anything on the harmonics then that particular model is very well shielded. The FETs in these things usual switch as fast as they can to reduce device dissipation so they generate square or rectangular waves waves which will contain all the odd harmonics and to a lesser extent even ones. They use a form of PWM to synthesize a sine wave. Like a giant class D amplifier so the switching is followed by a low pass filter to leave 50Hz and nothing higher. I attended one of these sites on a farm because the landowner complained that his automatic grain auger had stopped auto switching off resulting in the auger consistently jamming. Also some of the LED lights on the farm remained on dimly even after they were switched off. The cause: a solar inverter generating so much common mode hash ~(over 100V at 18 khz) that it was stopping the capacitive sensor from detecting a full grain bin. and capacitively coupling across the lighting cable resulting in lights still on. The power company east green energy actually replaced the inverter and the fault seemed to go away. MW reception within 250 M of the faulty inverter was not possible, after the unit was replaced it was fine.
