60 KHz is a separate transmission, and nothing to do with 198 KHz LW. It's a different 'band' too. The 60s KHz transmissions (aka MSF) come from the Anthorn site, west of Carlisle and its the UK's standard time nd signal transmission, used for lots of things, such as radio-controlled clocks and watches.

MSF is nothing to do with the even lower frequency transmissions from the same site (and others) such as GQD (on 19KHz, with 550 KW of power!)) etc which are intended for ships at sea, especially our submarines.

The new eLORAN transmitter will be built there too shortly; I understand this will have a 1 MW transmitter, and be on or around 110 KHz. And serve far fewer than the number who listen to R4 Long Wave!
