Hilarious Some of you really are.
I decided not to post on any forums anymore so this will be my final one to put you all out of your misery.
* 2019 We decided it would be fun to do an offshore event off Whitstable in 2020 I visited Harlingen to get things moving 2 times
* 2020/2021 Out of the blue covid which killed it
* 2022 2 visits to Harlingen (One in April then June which was great as i was also working at the 3 Nederland v England Cricket matches in Amsterdam) had a good meeting with Bob Noakes in Belgium en-route from Spain/France (Bob totally against it on the JB due to safety concerns)
Pushed hard with the management team to make this happen (2020 it would have happend however since then things have moved on)
Management team (Which includes my wife) have been totally against this since day one however they agreed that if its funded from either myself or sponsor then what the hell let this silly old bastard have his day in the sun (Cost around £ 130K which is not a problem happy to pay it if the original sponsor from 2020 decides no longer interested)
After the recent legal cases (For which our costs were paid in full) and god knows what it cost them maybe another £ 50K + our investors convinced me that to continue this offshore connection was not in the interests in the station long term with the expansion plans that it has which as hard as it was for me i have agreed with.
Atlantis will continue to expand over the next year or so and we are still allowed to have some offshore fun at weekends (Fantasy Island etc) however the reality is to continue this offshore radio dogfight is pointless as basically in the real world no-one outside of an ever decreasing bunch of anoraks is slightly interested as monty python said the parrot is dead
So there you go good luck with MW and fake internet listenership figures the real world is main stream DAB (Not SSDAB) and increasing listeners online phone and smart speakers.
I will be attending the radio day in Harlingen in May and will be happy to meet up with fellow anoraks and answer any questions.
Atlantis will be looking to go nationwide within the next year or so and in the meantime is doing really well with more advertisers coming every week.
We have informed Seagull of our decision however on a personal level i have decided to make them a donation at the forthcoming radio day .
