Link: Drug References In Popular Songs Chart
Well some of the tracks played include drug references, and some of DJs do club night where drugs are likely available - they certainly were in my clubbing, festival, and rave days, from the early 80's to the mid-2010s.
But, none of that is new, I mean The Beatles' Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (1967) caused controversy because of its hallucinogenic theme and supposed reference to the drug LSD.
Eric Clapton's Cocaine (1977) was a great track - getting good chart positions in many countries and playing on Caroline as I type this.
As was Musical Youth's Pass the Dutchie (1982) - 'pass the Dutchie 'pon the left hand side', being a reference to passing the joint.
Then The Shamen's Ebeneezer Goode (1992) was a classic, and all about raving on Ecstasy (E's are good) - 'Eezer Goode 'Eezer Goode He's Ebeneezer Goode'.
This link is an interesting list of 100 songs -
