Radio Caroline 648 (Region 8) v M25 (Greater London-Region 10)

It is now time to stop speculating and be serious. It is to talk technical, and not to moan about music policy, or personal grievances. Radio Caroline in 2017 got the 648kHz licence, it was for Suffolk and North East Essex, in Region 8. It was always known that at 1kW EMRP that there would be an Audible Zone (66dBu-2mV) overspill into a small part of Kent (South East Region 9), via the sea path of the Thames Estuary. In August 2021 Ofcom announced a significant increase that bring the Ross Revenge into the Technical Coverage area (please note-for administration purposes this is 76dBu), and the Audible Zone (2mV) would extend into parts of Kent and East Sussex. This still has not fully happened for East Sussex- it required 10kW EMRP to achieve this, and the Region 8/Region 10 2mV Audible Zone would be at the Dartford Crossing. For the towns (in the new application) mentioned north of the Thames, in Region 8, they would come into the 66dBu (2mV) Audible Zone at 16kW EMRP, but there would be a very small overspill into Region 10 London). Overspill is a technicality and I hope it can be resolved, as it involves only a very small area of North East/South East London inside the M25. Scottg.
