Radio has changed so much in the past 40 years, when I first started Djs/presenters were allowed to choose their own music provided it followed the general format of the station.

Sadly the bean counters decided that individual choices could not be trusted and there was a magic formular of narrowcast music that would maximise ratings.

They were right at the time, but like that great brand new CD you brought and couldn't stop listening to, after 1000 plays it becomes boring and does not give you the same buzz that it did the first time you heard it.

Radio has become the same, There are still some GEMs worth listening to on the Local MUXes, there is also a lot of community stations but sadly most of them are Friends and Family radio.

With regards to 648 I really enjoyed the test transmissions and phoned one of the presenters to tell them, his reaction, enjoy it while you can as we will soon be relaying the s**t we play online.
