Re: How to measure signal sttrength accurately
Ah, its seems what is being referred to is the BALANCE, between the Mic and the Music. The automatic "ducking" of music when a mic is activated was always bad, and some programme hosts either cant ope won't monitor the relative levels of mic and music. This is easily done, by metering or listening. It is an acquired skill, and the BBC never trusted presenters to do it, so I suppose its become a lost art. The listeners are paying for this now as its possible to hear levels all over the place. A station I listen to often suffers from this but I listen for the programme content and must be getting more tolerant in my old age - there was a time when i would be forever shouting at the radio, and calling up people to register my displeasure with their operating technique. (Now I only do so for money!)
