Another point Zom Bee is your theory about multiplication of 4 times power = double the signal is correct, now the point i want to make is that i grew up in Old Windsor,and the signal from Frinton,Radio London Big L about Ninety Miles SW to Old Windsor, was a medium strength to strong signal at about 7 out of 10, 10 being v strong, so not bad on a good radio, a Hacker, with out a Loop, Big L running 17Kw on 266M. Caroline on 462M, with a good aerial earth system at the same power should be able to do even better that this,partly due to the low wavelength.Rgds Mike
