Im pretty sure your idea that better coverage could be achieved with less transmitters (or certainly sites) is correct. OFCOM are not fining anyone for not broadcasting, there is no such rule, but Bauer have failed to fulfil their contract with OFCOM, and with the public. They took a precious national resource and failed to meet their side of the bargain. The analogue frequencies are in short supply and they have kept others off them, so deprived the public of servcies that we might otherwise have enjoyed. Mean and despicable.

Having always campaigned for MORE radio, rather than less, I think that Absolute should be levied huge sum for their cynicism, and that use dot run the facilities to let us all hear something worthwhile - such as Atlantis Radio or Caroline Flashback perhaps?
