Few people under 40 listen to radio at home, maybe slightly more in the car but this is diminishing as more and more spotify and bluetooth their own playlists unless we include the 10 minute daily oommute brigade. At home its the smart speaker because who needs to faff around twiddling knobs whnn you can tell the assistant to play what you want and all this before 5G broadcast mode takes hold.
DRM would of been great 20 years ago when regular AM transmissions and listeners could of transitioned to it but there are so few listeners left who on earth is going to learn about DRM let alone adopt it. No way are a few niche broadcasters going to spend millions promoting a new format. If it aint already on air using current formats it won't happen.
