As Mike Simmonds rightly says DRM would have worked if it had been pushed 20 years ago. It's quite feasable to have had a converter box / hi fi amp plugging into the eaphone socket of an existing AM RX with the DRM derived audio feeding out. That was proposed for the FM band a few years ago, but the authorities showed no interest, and I suppose selling totally new stuff was far more profitable. Probably too late now as Mike Smash says, and likely MW will be abandoned totally. Perhaps it should be left licence free to encourage some to freely experiment. New things could come from that
