Yes Brian was a larger than life character and a prolific Pirate, an all round a great chap. On an occasion where the PO/DTI caught 3 of us running Veronica Super Gold /
Veronica 102. Brian heard of the case and told us he had a good friend who had just passed all his exams etc to qualify as a barrister and who offered to represent us totally free of any charge as he wanted to take the case on as experience prior to upcoming cases laying before him so naturally we were very happy with this. On the day of the case Gotts seemed quite surprised that we should have a barrister to represent us in the magistrates court. The guy was dynamic and managed to make Gotts appear as a bit of a fool. The case was dismissed and all of our stuff had to be returned including the TX as he challenged Gotts to show proof that we were on air at the time to which Gotts could only say that they tracked us via the signal but had no electronic or other proof of the fact! The magistrate said as it was only Gotts word against ours that the case could not be proven beyond doubt and dismissed the case and all thanks to Brian bless him. Totally agree with you us old pirates had some great times, and met the great like minded among us, good old times indeed Abe.
