RADIO is FREE 1
I doubt it will ever fall away completely.
It may be the only thing thats keeping DAB going, and indeed growing. 72 new Small Scale muxes licensed so far, at 25 to 30 stations each, so thats a fair few, albeit they cover small areas. Its still radio broadcasting.
I saw a new SSDAB Mux fired up the other day and 26 channels fed into it. Great reception, so long as you're in the coverage area (which I agree could be a lot bigger, but 100w gets decent coverage if tour site is high enough).
Once we get community, local and chain radio moved onto DAB, the AM and FM bands will be available for others! (Dont give me the clap trap that they will all be mobile - its needs international coordination, and the ITU moves like a sloth, taking 20 to 40 years to make big spectrum use changes).
