The long promised review of the £20 Roberts R9993 I bought for my mother last August is that she has taken it out of the box and is very pleased that I have bought something on the internet that works and that it looks very tasteful and picks up the sports and Wimbledon knickers stuff

I of course had a play around testing it's AM capability. By checking with on line (and it hates being near a computer or a switch mode) I have deduced that there is nothing on medium wave very strong apart from 5 live, greatest hits, some Asian thing and another foreign thing, probably Spain. 4pm in daylight 648 just detectable and confirmable

Verdict - Great little builder, garage, child, mother radio. £20 classy looking and good sounding to pick up the strongest thing around but perhaps not good enough to send Mike Simmonds for Christmas
